The Nebraska On-Farm Research Network (NOFRN) puts answers right where they matter most, on farmers’ fields. In this on-farm research project, the farmer, located in Eastern Cass County, wanted to see how his drone fungicide applications stacked up against the airplane applications already common across his farm. Based on the farmer’s question, Nebraska Extension educators assisted with trial design and data collection. The timelapse shows crop progress throughout the growing season. We also used satellite imagery to generate NDVI maps to evaluate crop differences, and it was possible to see visual distinctions between treated and untreated strips. Harvest data has been collected, and we’re excited to see if these differences translate into yield and economic impacts. Stay tuned!
